About Us

(Some tips and tricks we like to use)

New Tip: We have started spraying the bottom of our inner hoop with adhesive spray and placing it on the fabric to be hooped. We have found this to be very helpful in keeping the fabric tight in the hoop. The items to be hooped (fabric and stabilizer) should be placed on a flat surface and the sprayed hoop then placed on top of those items. It really only takes a small amount of spray. This technique can also be used to hoop your stabilizer and then baste in the hoop your item to be embroidered on.

Thread Stand

A few weeks ago Josie and I decided to make our own thread stand. It wasn't that we didn't want one of the ready made stands, but our budgets just couldn't  take it right now. Below are some photos of our project.

As you can see, I am not a terrific photographer. I think you will get the idea. The stands turned out much nicer than we ever thought. The thread travels very evenly and smoothly through the eye screws. We can line up all the colors in a design on the lower thread row. When you have stitched out that color just move that spool up a row. We put cup hooks on the ends to hold our scissors and hoop clips. We even added extra dowels to the side for full bobbins so that they are always at hand. There is a piece of 1/2 inch foam over the lower row to keep the thread from pooling and getting caught under the spool.

Just want you to know that these were very easy to make. (Josie didn't even mess up her manicure.) The cost for each was about $8. They took about 1-1 1/2 hours to complete. I think it is very functional. I even made a couple of more for 2 other friends. We thought some of you would like to make your own too. If you have any questions about how we made them just write and ask.

The file contains 2 .bmp's that you should open in Paint and print for reference

Please write and let us know how you have improved on our ideas. We would love to post your ideas for everyone to see.

We no longer have any thread stands to sell.

Bullclips2.jpg (24346 bytes) I like to use heavy clips to help hold the fabric and stabilizer tightly in place when I am embroidering in the large hoop. I think it helps prevent gaps and keeps the outline where it belongs!
